A time for welcoming...
“A legacy of the heart”
Welcome to the Welsh Home.
This is a place where people come to live life more fully.
Our philosophy of care focuses on respecting the spirit of each
resident. It is a commitment that shows in the way we treat people –
helping them maintain their dignity and independence. Our tradition
is rooted in a concern for people who can no longer care for
themselves.
The Women’s Welsh Clubs of America have
operated and maintained the Welsh Home in Rocky River since 1922.
Today, the Board of Trustees meets regularly to ensure a continued
tradition of excellence. We refer to our residents as family because
we care for them as if they were our own relatives. The Welsh Home
is now their home.
We
invite you to visit with us. Tour our beautiful home, experience our
family atmosphere, and see the level of personal care each resident
enjoys. We will be glad to answer any questions that you may
have.
On
behalf of the Board of Trustees, our hope is that we can be of
service to you and your family.
Sincerely,

Marilyn Davis Administrator

A time for
living...
“Where your heart is, there is your
happiness.”
What does it take to make the Welsh Home your
home? It takes people who respect your personal rights, allow you to
enjoy life and provide a safe, caring environment for you to
continue developing your life to the fullest. There is a feeling of
life here. You’ll notice it as you walk through our home, see our
residents involved in activities, and watch them enjoy each other’s
company in a common dining room. Residents here are not observers
watching life go by – they are involved in living.

A time for
caring...
“Friendship is a sheltering tree.”
The
Welsh Home has a warm, pleasant atmosphere with a living room,
dining room, year-round porch, courtyard and outdoor patio
overlooking the duck pond. We are a Medicare and Medicaid certified
facility with 34 beds licensed for skilled and intermediate nursing
care and 12 beds licensed for rest home care. Most rooms are
private. All rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, and
include a private full or half bathroom.
Our
residents enjoy the amount of time we spend with them. We consider
it a privilege to know each of them and their families. Conferences
that include the resident, their family members and department heads
are held quarterly for each resident. These meetings allow time for
managing expectations, addressing concerns and reviewing goals.
Communication here is open and ongoing.
Each resident may have a personal physician of
choice attend them during their stay here. If this is not possible,
you can choose from one of our attending physicians.
Our
primary staff includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses,
State-Tested Nursing Assistants, Caregivers, Dietary Manager and
Aides, and Housekeeping and Laundry Aides. Additionally, our
specialized departments, such as Rehabilitation and Restorative
Services, are appropriately staffed to best serve your
needs.
