We offer a dedicated Rehabilitation Room and a comprehensive Medicare-approved program. A Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist deliver individualized care based on assessment and goals.

  • Physical Therapy

The focus is on strengthening and/or restoring lower body function, i.e. mobility of walking, bed mobility, wheelchair mobility, wheelchair mobility, and transferring from one location to another. It also manages contractures and applications/use of orthotic/prosthetics of lower body and trunk.

  • Occupational Therapy

The focus is on upper body strengthening and maximizing ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), i.e. grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting and homemaking, including transfers and balance training, activity tolerance and splinting to maintain joint integrity and contractures.

  • Speech Therapy

The focus is on Resident Communications, including comprehension and expression and cognitive skills, including orientation, memory and problem solving in order to participate in ADLs. Speech Therapists also help Residents with swallowing difficulties learn to tolerate a less restrictive diet to meet nutritional needs.

  • Ancillary Services

Prime Source is our provider of Dental, Hearing Aids, Ophthamology and Pediatry services. If all services are used, Prime Source will replace broken or lost eye glasses, dentures and/or hearing aids. If only one of these services is used, the individual services are not provided replacement.

  • Psychiatric and Psychological Services

Our psychiatrist will evaluate and prescribe medications for the benefit of the resident. The psychologist will provide therapy if the resident is able to benefit from this.

Pastoral Care

Our ministry of Pastoral Care supports the spirituality and faith traditions of all who are part of the Welsh Home community. Pastoral Care focuses on the healing effect of spiritual nurturing, and the important role it has in the health of our residents. An on-staff Pastoral Minister leads individuals or groups who gather in faith and prayer, and is a supportiv, listening presence to all — residents, families and staff. Residents are also welcome to participate in weekly Worship and Communion Services each Sunday.

Restorative Services

The goal of Restorative Services is to help all residents in a daily routine of exercise that will develop and/or maintain their present skill level. Care may focus on feeding, dressing, walking, bathing and grooming. A Restorative Aide, working with individuals and in small groups, offers adaptive equipment to help accomplish personal goals.

Hospice Care

This is a Medicare benefit provided by outside agencies that work with the Welsh Home team to care for your loved ones. Hospice Care forfeits all active attempts to cure a disease when your prognosis is terminal. Hospice Agencies provide clinical service, social service, pastoral support, and some assistance with bathing and grooming in addition to the services provided by the Welsh Home.

Respite Care

Our Respite Care service provides a temporary length of stay at the nursing home or rest home. It offers personal care, safety and security in your absence for your loved one.
